I am a retired RN and have the unusual privilege to spend a second career chasing my passions. Thanks to an incredibly generous and supportive spouse, I have immersed myself in the public education system. I serve as a volunteer in several different schools and as a volunteer, I am able to stay free of the politics and red tape of a typical work environment. I work specifically with the Gifted populations at many different grade levels.
In order to keep relevant with the students, I try to read as much of the current youth literature as I possibly can. The influx of new literature every year is daunting so please forgive me if I fall behind. This blog is my reviews and book suggestions for students and teachers. I hope that you find something helpful here. I owe thanks for many of my TBR ideas to my friends and mentors at The Nerdy Book Club.
